The hip hop industry in Cyprus and Greece is on it‘s developing stages. After the commercial Greek music, it is the most wanted. Born on the 6th of June 1987, Andreas Michael a.k.a. Icy, is a greekcypriot rapper thats taking the hip hop industry to the next level. Icy was into hip hop from a very young age, he kept on going in and out of clubs and he was mostly raised in Ayia Napa(Cyprus). He is now a part of the group D.R.i.G. which stands for Drew, Rac, Icy and Geo. They are recording their album at the moment and Icy is mostly the Greek side of things. On the other hand he is performing with the group in the one and only ‘Black and White‘ club, the home of hip hop in Cyprus since 1985. Whilst Geo pumps the beats Drew and Rac take on entertaining all tourists and newcomers of the club and Icy sets all the trends for the locals. If you really look into it, you will see that it is very difficult to come across a greekcypriot rapper with an outstanding flow. Although he raps in Greek he never really listens to Greek hip hop, he listens to it just so that he can study the field that he is in to.
